Washington, DC

I took a few days off cycling and blogging,  but I am back on the road and heading south.

We don't know what the impact of Irma will be on the trip and will continue as planned until it is unsafe to proceed.  All we are expecting in Virginia is a few days of scattered showers.

Washington was a lot of fun.  Julie visited and we were absorbed in the history of the area.  We did tours of the Mall and Arlington Cemetery.  We got to see an Honor Flight tour from Indiana, which was very meaningful.

Today on the ride we stopped in and saw Mount Vernon.   It occurred to me that it was the 4th presidential grave that I have seen on the trip.... FDR,  JFK,  Taft and Washington.

  1. Love the photo of you three Wisconsites in front of the Lincoln Memorial. Looks like you all had a great rest and are ready to ride again.

  2. Nothing says vacation to a history major like dead presidents.
