Wells, Maine to Exeter, New Hampshire

I hate to be redundant, but today was another excellent day on the road. We started south out of Wells (the oldest town in Maine), with the Atlantic Ocean on our left. It was strangely reminiscent of the second day of the Scenic Shore 150 that we have done for 9 years. It was a quiet Sunday morning like the SS 150, but instead of North, we headed South today. Instead of Lake Michigan, today it was the Atlantic Ocean.

The winds were light and the pace was quick. We were applauded at the crest of one hill by someone who appreciated cycling. He asked where we were going and we were proud to responded "Key West" in unison.

We snapped a few partial group pictures after we rode over the draw bridge that separated Maine and New Hampshire.

Officially, I have been to all 50 states, but all I recall about New Hampshire was driving through on the interstate. Today we were treated to beautiful countryside and old farmsteads on the 20 miles to our campsite in Exeter.

It looks like a dry and clear night. It should be clear for the eclipse tomorrow, which will be exciting.

  1. How are you holding up out there, have you had any flat tires?
